Ev targeting
There is some indication that EV's can preferentially target different cells[@pedrioli2021Extracellular Vesicles as Promising Carriers in Drug Delivery: Considerations from a Cell Biologist’s Perspective]. For example for tumors, EV's can be used to specifically target cancer cells, limiting the damage that drugs can produce in surrounding tissue.
Different compositions can increase the accumulation of extracellular vesicle in brain, lungs, or liver[@elsharkasy2020Extracellular vesicles as drug delivery systems: Why and how?]. Uptake can also be enhanced by engineering the proteins making the outer shell of the EV's.
